BBQ Grilling Tips

Though it felt like winter would never end, spring is finally upon us. With spring comes many things: more light, sunnier days, and delicious food. One of the best things about warmer weather is eating outside which is where BBQing comes in. Below, we’ve outlined some of our favorite tips that are essential for seasoned BBQ-ers as well as first time grillers. Once you have these down, you’ll be ready to whip up delicious meals on the grill in no time!

1. Choose high quality products

Choose a reputable supplier (like us), and make sure you know where the products are coming from. It is also important to pay attention to the grade of meat, the marbling, and the fat to ensure a delicious flavor. While some cuts of meat are better than others, picking products is all about personal preference. Ultimately, what you like is your decision and can be determined only by you!

 

2. Season your meat early

Salt and season your meat prior to heating your grill so that the seasonings can soak in. Seasoning your steaks for about 15 minutes allows it to dissolve and evenly season the meat.

 

3. Choose the right grill

Whether you choose a charcoal or a gas grill, it’s important to know what you’re working with! Regularly, gas grills take longer to set up initially, while charcoal grills take longer each time you use them. They each have pros and cons, it just depends on the kind of finish you’re looking for.

 

4. Oil your grill

Before you cook, make sure you oil up your grill so that your food doesn’t stick. Grab a paper towel, soak it in oil, then use tongs to rub it across your grill so it covers the rack.

 

5. Keep it safe

While it’s very easy to look over, grill safety is really important. With grills, make sure that you always check for leaks, scratches, or nicks in the connectors that could lead to a fire.

 

6. Pair with condiments

Making condiments to go on your meat ahead of time really helps to keep your focus on cooking. Before you start cooking, create a few simple condiments that pair well with every dish. We love creating a compound butter mixture out of softened butter, garlic, pepper, and salt.
